GRATITUDE
This Labor Day,
I am grateful
for a multitude
of God's blessings.
The sun rising
like lemon drops
over the Blue Ridge Mountains,
shadows dancing across
the soybean field.
A buck and his family
foraging on the tender greenery,
a fawn skipping and playing.
The goldenrod waving palms
on the crystal, crisp wind,
Joe-pye weeds lifting
lavender heads to the azure skies.
The taste of autumn,
pumpkin pies and apple cider,
trees sprinkled with cinnamon and spice;
today I am grateful.

A beautiful Autumn thankful poem. There is so much to be thankful for!
Beautiful poem, and the photos are spectacular.
What a beautiful poem. I could have closed my eyes and pictured the beautiful scenery that you painted with your words.
I liked your poem too. There is so much to be thankful for if we just look. So, you live in NC? I live in GA. Near the Appalachian Mountains too.
Funny my name is Sandra Kay and most of the girls in my family have Kay as their middle name.
Thanks for commenting on my post. I only write on Tuesdays.
My email is skcz@comcast.net. I would love your address.
Beautiful poem, I do love fall and it is coming faster than normal because we are so dry.
