Renewal

April stirs sleeping roots,
pink azaleas dot the hillsides;
she whispers in the woods,
life bursting from earth's tomb.

Pink azaleas dot the hillsides,
sap flows through veins;
life bursting from earth's tomb,
dogwoods wear white crosses.

Sap flows through veins,
the valley glowing with verdant grass;
life bursting from earth's tomb,
a symphony of song birds.

Tulips splash rainbows on lawns,
she whispers in the woods,
renewal of the soul,
April stirs sleeping roots.

I hope all my blogger friends are enjoying this beautiful spring.  I think this spring is about the most marvelous we've ever had here in western North Carolina.

Love the poem, Brenda! The first and last lines are an excellent description of one of April's presence. Loved reading this poem. Great photos, too, dogwoods are so beautiful.
Hope you're having a great weekend!

Beautiful pictures, Brenda. I can't wait to see more of our Spring beauty. We're coming back (after a horrible and damaging winter)---and so far, we have had Crocus, Hyacinths, Daffodils, Tulips and Pansies in bloom. Oh yes---the Forsythia bloomed and now the Redbuds are blooming... We are waiting on much much more. Oh how I love Spring.

Have a great one.
Hugs,
Betsy

This is just such a pretty poem and surely describes the renewal of all things in nature. Do azaleas grow wild in your mountains?

Beautiful photos and words to match, Brenda! It WAS a pretty Spring this year. I think ours is just about done. We're having rainy now, but it's already hot here.
