Lenton Rose

A time to reflect,
earth looks forward
to the resurrection,
the lengthening of days.

Tulips spring forth
from their winter's tomb,
bluebirds lift praise songs
in the poplar trees.

Purple and white blossoms
nod their heads
along a stone sidewalk,
gems in a garden.

A girl's tears fell
on the snow,
angels turned them
into the Lenten Rose.

Wishing all my blogger friends a blessed Lent season and very happy Easter!

Great post about the lenten rose. I noticed that mine are in bloom now. I've been watching the evergreen foliage and now the beautiful winter blossoms are awesome, just in time for Easter! Good thing is that the deer don't like to eat them.

This is so pretty. I've never grown a Lenton Rose. Aren't they beautiful. Just read your touching post about the coronavirus and left you a comment.

Hi Brenda, How are you? Lovely words and those flowers are gorgeous!!!! Even in times of panic and fear, those Spring Flowers can always make us smile...... THANKS!!!!

Hope you are doing okay as we go through this Virus Scare. No Covid 19 cases in our county so far --but we are being very very careful through this Virus scare. We also are not panicking --and definitely not hoarding items/food, etc... People can be nuts at times like this.

Stay Healthy and Safe!!
Hugs,
Betsy

That was a beautiful poem! For some reason, my thoughts came to you this morning, I hadn't heard from you for a while so I thought I'd hop over and see how you were doing. You are still writing beautiful poetry. Keep safe and healthy.
