A tractor parade was held in the mountain town of Hayesville, NC on Saturday, September 28. More than 50 tractors putt-putt-putted around the square on this splendid fall day. The Clay County Tractor Club sponsored this fun-filled event that honored farmers and agriculture.
This is Ronnie Smith, a farmer who lives on Downings Creek. He formed the Clay County Tractor Club in memory of his son, Dwight, who was run over by a tractor and killed many years ago in Clay County, NC.
This huge machine is a combine that farmers use to cut corn. Hub Cheeks owns this John Deere.

That's really neat Brenda. I didn't know they had this each year. Those tractors are a vital tool in farming. Hope you and your mother are doing good and enjoying the pretty weather.

Oh, this was wonderful, Brenda~ I could name each one of those tractors! My dad even owned a few of them. Great pictures!!
My farmer would love to see one of these parades! He has a collection of old tractors that need to be restored, mostly Farmalls.

Oh yes, love, love the tractor parade. I'm a tractor girl myself - Ford 1600 here. :) I just mowed our pasture with a zero-turn though. It's a mite faster than the bushhog.

I love tractors, too. We sometimes get behind them on the road and we have to putt putt putt behind them until we reach a straight stretch in the road where we can pass.
What a nice parade. I hope that you will get a chance to visit Quillians Grill, fairly close to Cleveland GA. Open Wed. - Sat., Christian staff, delicious food,and even a screened in porch to eat on.
I love this idea! I'm going to suggest it to our county seat. It's a great fall activity. Beautiful pics :)
